This particular buckle is illustrated on page 511 of "Belt Buckles & Brocades of the Third Reich, Revised Edition" by John R. Angolia and came from his personal collection. It is constructed out of a die stamped bras that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse features a national opened winged eagle above a pebbled round backing that is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is open to the top and tied together at the bottom and is all surrounded by a thin smooth border. The reverse features a hollow back with a soldered on catch and rectangular hinge assembly. It measures approximately 1 15/16 inches in diameter. A rare one with nice patina! This one was previously sold by emedals.
