Here's a nice steel based, single piece, blue/black painted Navy Costal Artillery belt buckle. The obverse depicts an embossed closed winged eagle griping a swastika in its talons. The eagle is in front of a pebbled base, above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath and underneath: "GOTT MIT UNS" (God with us). The wreath and motto are in front of a decorative line type pattern which is all encircled by two twisted ropes. The steel prongs and catch remain in excellent condition! The buckle is marked “JFS”. The buckle shows some minor wear and oxidation. The details to the wreath, motto and eagle are all beautiful! Belt is marked and large approx 45” in good shape with wear but still supple. There’s minor surface cracks. A great set awaiting your collection!
