Luftwaffe EM/NCO Belt and Buckle by Overhoff & Cie

A nice Luftwaffe EM/NCO Belt and Buckle by Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, that was instituted in 1938. The buckle is constructed out of an injection molded aluminum alloy base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a centrally placed 2nd pattern Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on top of an oval pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and all lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse is clearly maker marked “OCL” (Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid), within a diamond. The aluminum alloy prongs and integral catch remain intact. The obverse of the buckle shows wear to the high spots. The buckle measures approximately 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches high. Attached to the buckle is a 2nd pattern 33 ¼ inch black/brown leather belt. It features a stitched on green painted steel hook to the one end and 10 hole punches to the other. The belt is marked and dated to the interior. It is mostly illegible but I can make out “194?”. The leather is in good shape. A nice Luftwaffe assembly!
