German WWII > Belt Buckles > SS >
A beautiful SS (Schutzstaffel) EM/NCO Belt and Buckle by Overhoff & Cie., Lüdenscheid, that was introduced in 1927. The buckle is constructed out of a die struck nickel silver base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts an SS eagle with its tongue sticking out and outstretched wings, clutching a centrally placed wreath static swastika in its talons. The eagle is above the SS motto: "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" which is in front of a rough textured background that is surrounded by two twisted ropes in a circle. All of this lies on a smooth rectangular background. The reverse shows a soldered on brass catch and plated steel pin, post/sleeve and prongs assembly. It shows nice patina and beautiful detail! It measures approximately 2 ½ inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. Attached to the buckle is a 1st pattern 34 ½ inch black/brown leather belt. It features a peened on plated steel hook to the one end and a stitched on 14 hole punched tongue to the other. The tongue is marked "RZM L2/2433". The leather is in excellent condition! A nice SS belt and buckle!
