German WWII > Belt Buckles > Army >
Here we have a 2nd pattern Army (Heer) EM/NCO Belt and Buckle (Koppelschloß), introduced in 1937. The two piece buckle is constructed of a die stamped steel base that has been silver washed. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Heer eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a textured round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined background which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse shows an integral catch and aluminum post/sleeve and prongs assembly. It shows period wear yet nice detail remains. The buckle measures approximately 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches high. Attached to the buckle is a 2nd pattern black/brown leather belt. It is nicely marked "R.B.Nr. 0/0556/0078" (Reichsbetriebsnummer Industry Aachen), "1948" (date) and "115" (sized). It features a stitched on green painted steel hook to the one end and 20 hole punches to the other. The leather is in great shape. A nicely marked belt
