Early Named Army Infantry EM/NCO Visor Cap 1935

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

Here we have a rare named Early Heer (Army) 1st Pattern Infantry EM/NCO Visor Cap 1935! The visor is constructed of field-grey wool with a forest green band and white identifying (infantry) waffenfarbe piping. All of the wool shows minor thinning and moth nips throughout. It has the correct early 1st pattern wreath and cockade along with the correct silvered aluminum 1st pattern army eagle insignia. The black leather chinstrap looks shows age crazing throughout. The visor top has an internal wire stiffener. The black/brown lacquered vulcanfiber visor peek shows scuffs and wear throughout. The interior is lined in a light brown cotton material. The brown ersatz leather sweat-band remains in excellent condition. The interior is stamped with the maker mark "Mützenfabrik Würzburg" (I am assuming it is: Uniformen Gotz Würzburg Mützenfabrik) and dated "1935". It is also stamped "5/J.R. 41 II" and has a stitched on name reading: "Scheuerer Jos. Stab II. / J.R. 41". The top celluloid sweat diamond is lost to time. A rare and interesting piece!
