A nice Long Dress Bayonet by WKC! The single edged, fullered 9 ½ inch plated blade on this one looks excellent! The stamped knights head “WKC” maker mark is beautifully executed! The plating gives it a nice mirror like finish. The tip comes to a perfectly sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows minor spotting and the common surface scratches throughout. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It shows age spidering and paint loss throughout. It continues to retain 85%+ of its original paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The original throat retaining screw and frog lug remain intact. The ball remains perfectly round. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated hilt looks good. The platting has started to thin yet retains 95%+ of a patinaed coverage. The black checkered bakelite grip plates are in near perfect condition. Both plates are tightly secured to the hilt with two lightly oxidized steel rivets. The button continues to work well! This one comes with a great looking Luftwaffe brown frog. A nice piece!
