Here's an good example of a completely correct and matching Army by a rare maker. The blade looks has some old stains from fingerprints the worse of which are towards the hilt. The crossgrain is visible throughout, it retains a solid fit and ends at a perfect tip. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. The leather is lost to time. The dent free scabbard is steel based and has patinaed to a pleasing dark grey. It provides good detail with the random pebbling throughout and oak leaf and acorn bands! One throat retaining screw remains intact. The type B generic crossguard is the type normally found on Spitzer's. It's alloy based and is well detailed! All the components show matching patina. The grip utilizes a new type material made from an organic product, milk I believe. This was used for a short time by a few producers seek an alternative the oil based trylon grips as materials were diverted to more essential war materials later in production. galalith was soon abandon in favour of celluloid over wood or celluloid over plaster grips. I digress, the grip on this one is perfectly damage-free. Finally, this comes with the portepee it arrived with. The bullion is lost from the top of the ball. A correct and fine looking later period example.
