A good tabbed example! The buckle is constructed out of a die struck, steel base that has been dark green painted with a brown leather tab. The obverse depicts the Imperial king’s crown which is then encircled by detailed lines and enclosed by two twisted ropes. The crown is above a laurel leaf and berry wreath and below the Army motto: "GOTT MIT UNS" (God with us), which all lies on a smooth background. The steel prongs and catch remain in great condition. Minor oxidization age wear. Attached to the buckle is a folded over and stitched brown leather tab. The tab is marked and dated 1915. The obverse retains good detail. It measures approximately 2 ½ inch wide by 2 inches high. A nice piece!
