Here we have a 25 Year Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen! The 25 Year Faithful Service Cross was awarded to all officials, employees, and laborers at any level of the public service (local, regional or national) who completed 25 years of service. The award is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed, contains black enamel work and has been finished with a lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a pebbled cross with an oak leaf wreath visible to the corners and a centrally placed black static swastika / “Fur Treue Dienste” (For Faithful Service) to the reverse. To the top is a soldered on loop and ring which holds approximately 3 1/2 inches of folded blue rayon ribbon that has a stitched on well working brass based pin assembly. The silver wash is stunning! The enamel work is 100%! Interesting enough you can see the thick original lacquer covering the hole to the top left of the swastika. The award measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide and tall. A beautiful piece deserving of a good home!
