A nice Kriegsmarine Küstenartillerie Koppelschloß by Ernst Schneider of Lüdenscheid 1942, that was introduced in 1940. It is constructed of a single piece of die struck steel that has been blue-black painted. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Navy eagle griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a smooth round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the motto reading: “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse is maker marked “ESL 42” (Ernst Schneider, Lüdenscheid 1942). It also shows a soldered on steel catch and steel post, sleeve and prong assembly. It shows minor wear to the edges and high points. The details to the eagle, motto and roundel are excellent! It measures approximately 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A beautiful looking piece!
