Here we have a Hitler Youth Belt Buckle (Hitlerjugend Koppelschloß) by RZM M4/27 (Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid), that was instituted in 1936. It is constructed out of a single piece of injection molded aluminum alloy that has been black burnished. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged HJ eagle clutching an HJ diamond within its talons on a pebbled round background. Above the eagle is the Hitler Youth motto reading: “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honor). This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes and all lies on the smooth rectangular background. The reverse is clearly maker marked “RZM M4/27” (Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid). The integral catch and pin/post sleeve assembly remain in great condition. It shows wear to the high points and looks as though it has been cleaned. It measures approximately 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A fine piece!
