The blade on this one looks good. Decent crossgrain remains. The fit is nice and tight. The dark acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “Malsch & Ambronn Steinbach” maker mark are both nicely executed! The blade rates Exc+. It has some spotting and age grey throughout. The brown anodized scabbard looks good with lots of honest period wear; it also has a small pressure mark 3” up from the lower fitting. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are near perfect and match the crossguards in color and wear. The ball has a hit and split and all four screws remaining intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are in near perfect condition. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Sa". The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The red/brown multi-toned hardwood grip has a good finish with again honest period wear. There are a couple microscopic hairlines up near the upper fitting but you will need and magnifier to find them. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. Overall this piece is looks great and will look great in your collection!
