Nice war-time 1st pattern pith helmet correctly formed from a cork core with a ribbed twill cotton covering. There are two early tombac based painted shields intact and pinned to each side. The inside liner is made of vented red cotton. The liner is lost and the leather edge band is well worn and missing in some areas. The dome is bent in slightly. The chin strap is intact bit fragile. This one was there and will make for a very cool display!
