2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by WMW

Here we have a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by WMW (Max Weyersberg Waffenfabrik) of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The stamped "WMW Waffen" looks good. It has a perfect tip and solid fit. The crossgrain can still be seen in the light. The blade on this one rates Exc+. It shows heavy age grey, one small nick to the cutting edge (near the tip) and the common surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based nickel-silver plated. It has a nice even patinaed finish to it. It remains completely dent free and depicts wonderful detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns.The aluminum based burnished eagle crossguard has beautiful detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look great! The grip is wood based and celluloid covered. It is in excellent condition, no cracks or chips. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. This one comes with the correct Luftwaffe portepee. A solid piece!
