Here we have an Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by F. W. Höller of Solingen. The thin blade on this one is rough. The stamped “F. W. Höller” Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt.” are nicely executed. The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates a VG/Exc. It has been heavily sharpened, leaving scratches throughout, it shows heavy age spotting and age grey throughout. The motto has been removed. The leather buffer is lost to time. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. 30%+ of its original paint coverage remains intact. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in excellent condition. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 75%+ of its plating. The black bakelite checkered grip plates look good. It looks like there is a crack just above the top-obverse rivet. Both solid nickel silver rivets tightly secure the plates to the hilt. The small HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine example.
