Here we have a Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Gottlieb Hammesfahr of Solingen Foche. The ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen, Foche Ges. Gesch.” and acid etched “RZM M.7/67 1941” ” maker marks look good. The fit continues to remain nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc+. It has been ever-so-slightly sharpened, it shows surface scratches and age spotting/grey throughout. The original black leather buffer remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! 95%+ of its original paint coverage remains intact. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in wonderful condition, way better than most! It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well! The zinc based nickel-silver plated hilt retains approximately 20% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. The reverse has a hole in it. Both aluminum rivets remain tightly secured. The wiggly HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine transitional!
