A piece of very fine quality, rarity and one that is highly desired among the collecting community! A Model 1934 SS H. Himmler Honor Dagger by Carl Eickhorn. These were granted to members of the SS who took part in “The Night of the Long Knives” or later to those who displayed high loyalty to H. Himmler. The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched; “Meine Ehere Heisst Treue” motto, “In Herzlicher Freundschaft, H. Himmler” inscription and smooth tail “Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark are all dark, crisp and beautifully executed! They provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade and will surely make for a wonderful display! The crossgrain is stunning and runs all the way from the perfectly pointed tip to the tightly fit hilt! The blade rates an Exc++/NM. There is the odd rough spot to the cutting edge along with the typical surface scratches/runner marks and minor age grey throughout. The scabbard is steel based, black anodized and has a heavily lacquered finish. It retains a beautiful dark finish and continues to hold the majority of its original factory lacquer! There are three pressure marks to it, one to the obverse and two to the reverse. The solid nickel-silver scalloped scabbard fittings look excellent! The ball has the slightest pressure mark, yet retains a nice round profile. All four screws remain intact! The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect! The solid nickel-silver crossguards are in excellent condition. The crossguard is bench marked “8”. The black hardwood grip shows several chips throughout along with many hits, towards the top of to both sides. The solid nickel eagle has a small wiggle yet retains beautiful detail! The SS runes retain 97%+ of its enamel and has perfect fit. A quality piece available for your collection today!
