A nice Flak-Kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe by F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid! The Luftwaffe Flak Badge was awarded to those who had participated in 3 air defense actions (with a registered kill) or 5 air defense actions (regardless of a kill) or to the battery commander if half of their troops had been awarded the badge. It is constructed out of a two-piece die struck zinc base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts an anti-aircraft gun that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and is below/behind a Luftwaffe eagle, clutching a swastika in one of its talons. The full-back reverse is maker marked: "A" (F. W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid) and displays; a soldered on tombak flatwire catch, soldered on tombak block hinge and round wire pin. All of the components are non-magnetic and remain in well working condition! It measures approximately 2 ½ inches tall by 1 7/8 inches wide. See pages 74-77 of Marc Garlasco's "The Flak Badge". Beautiful detail!
