I always like to buy these Alcoso's they have distinct parts and after you get to know them you can pick 'em out a mile away. This one is correct in every way. Blade is Exc++ example with great crossgrain. It is marked with an early black Alcoso mark. The blade is perfectly seated through it's original large black leather washer into a textbook 3rd pattern crossguard. Love the pommel with lots of time and care going into the hand chased features. The grip is damage free with just light wear. Dent-free scabbard is absolutely Alcoso. The throat is secured with two side screws. The nicely detailed scabbard bands have hand enhancing hiding the casting seams. This on is unusual in that all the fittings including the scabbard bands are silver plated steel based. Very rare to find these, they were quickly abandon for easier to cast zinc. Comes with a nice portepee.
