Here we have a zinc based, die struck, silver washed General Assault Badge by Alois Rettenmaier of Scwablsch-Gmund. The obverse shows a closed winged eagle, clutching a swastika within its talons, above a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet. This is then all surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The reverse shows a concave flat back with a round wire soldered catch, sheet medal hinge and straight round wire pin. The pin and hinge are magnetic. It retains beautiful silver wash and has a lot of detail!
