Luftwaffe “Ball Hinge” Flak Badge

Quality material and beautiful workmanship to this early Luftwaffe Flak Badge! It is constructed out of a two-piece die struck nickel-silver base that has been silvered and finished with a dark lacquer and black burnishing with polished highlights. The obverse depicts an anti-aircraft gun that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and is below/behind a Luftwaffe eagle, clutching a swastika in one of its talons. The reverse of the badge correctly displays; the soldered and crimped ball hinge, soldered and crimped tombak flat wire catch and tombak round wire pin. All of the components are in well working condition! It measures approximately 2 9/16 inches tall by 1 13/16 inches wide.
