2nd Class Iron Cross 1939 Packet by Carl Forster & Graf

Here we have a 2nd Class Iron Cross 1939 Packet by Carl Forster & Graf of Schwäb. Gmünd. It is constructed out of blue cardstock paper that has been folded and glued together with black ink script. The obverse reads: “Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939” (2nd Class Iron Cross 1939). The reverse shows a triangular flap to the very top and reads: “Die Herstellung von Orden und Ehrenzeichen unterliegt der Kontrolle der Präsidial-kanzlei. Der Herstellier ist verpflichtet, mangelhaft gelleferte Stücke gegen einwandlrsien Ersaiz umzutauschen.” (The production of medals and decorations is under the control of the Presidential Office. The manufacturer is obligated to exchange defective pieces for a faultless replacement) and is also maker marked: “Carl Forster & Graf Schwäb. Gmünd” within a rectangular border.
