Navy Helmsmen Career Sleeve Insignia

Here we have a Kriegsmarine Helmsmen NCO Career Sleeve Insignia (Steuermann Laufbahnabzeichen). This would be worn on the upper left sleeve of the uniform. The base color of the insignia was to match the color of the uniform it was worn on. The oval badge is constructed out of a two piece white cotton base with blue machine embroidered rayon thread and a re-enforced exterior stitched on border. The obverse features a centrally placed blue dual crossed anchors on a white backing. It measures roughly 2 1/2 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches tall. A nice one!
