Here we have a second pattern Grade I Marksmen Lanyard. It is constructed out of interwoven silver/aluminum flatwire thread with a pearl satin and green wool backing and a die stamped aluminum based and silver washed second pattern shield. The obverse insignia depicts a shield behind two crossed broad swords and underneath a closed winged national eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons which is all surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The insignia is attached to the lanyard with prongs to an oval interwoven flatwire thread backing that has a loop to the top and a knot, interwoven cord, with a flatwire string. The reverse shows a stitched on pearl sating backing to the cord and a stitched on green wool backing to the oval piece. It measures approximately 18 inches long. It retains beautiful color and the shield shows wonderful detail! A great piece, don’t miss your chance!
