Here's an excellent example of a Luftwaffe Observer Badge by Meybauer! It is constructed out of a two piece, die struck, zinc base with a blackened eagle and silver washed wreath. The obverse depicts a detailed Luftwaffe open winged eagle that is clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. The eagle is in front of a half laurel leaf half oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The reverse of the badge correctly displays; the "P.M." maker mark behind the eagle. The reverse also correctly shows; the vertical round wire pin, soldered round wire catch, two rivets and soldered barrel hinge. The pin, hinge and catch are all non-magnetic and work well! The badge depicts light wear and beautiful details throughout the eagle's wings head and wreath! A very nice maker marked example that will make for a great addition to your collection! See pg. 168 of Previteras reference book.
