Cut-out Silver Condor Legion Wound Badge

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

The Condor Legion wound badges were awarded to wounded German volunteers who fought in the 1936-1939 Spanish War of Liberation! It is constructed out of a die stamped, nickel-silver alloy base that has been silver washed. The oval badge depicts an embossed profile of a (separately stamped) swastika, above an Imperial M16 pattern helmet, which is again above two crossed broad swords. This then lies on a cut-out pebbled field and is surrounded by a laurel leaf and acorn wreath pattern, which is tied together at the bottom with a bow tie. The reverse features a hollow back. The pin, hinge and catch are all intact and in well working condition. Beautiful silver wash and nice detail! The badge measures 1.75 inches high by 1.5 inches wide. A must have variation for wound badge collectors!
