Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

Here we have an early, 1st Pattern - Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz (Wiederholungsspangen) 1939 by Boerger & Co. of Berlin. The 1st Class Spange to the Iron Cross (Repetition Clasp) 1939 was awarded to those who has already received the Imperial 1st Class Iron Cross and earned the 1st Class Iron Cross again in WWII. It is constructed out of a die-struck tombak base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a National open winged eagle clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons, above a scalloped trapezoid bannered “1939”. The full back reverse features a soldered on c-shaped catch, sheet metal hinge and coke bottle pin. All components are non-magnetic and continue to function well. It measures approximately 1 ¾ inches wide by 1 ¼ inches tall. Gorgeous detail!
