The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle (1935). The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one has wear and sharpening. The tip and fit are both fine. It is beautifully maker marked with the stamped "S/244.36." and "8394 a" (serial/distribution number) to the obverse. The blade rates a solid Exc. It shows the commonly seen marks from the runners. The steel based, anodized scabbard shows oxidizing. It is marked "43" but that's all I can't make out anything else. It is completely dent free! The single side screw remains intact. The scabbard sits securely up against the hilt. The hilt is well oxidized. The brown wood grip plates are in good shape. They show the common pressure marks but no chips or cracks. This comes with a worn and mouse chewed dated frog. A decent example.
