Here we have a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by F.W. H?ller of Solingen. The blade has an etched "F.W. H?ller Solingen" maker mark that looks great. Some crossgrain remains visible. The blade on this one rates in at Exc. It shows heavy age grey, oxidization spotting, a few nicks to the cutting edge and the common surface scratches throughout. There is a small wiggle to the fit. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and nickel-silver plated. It has three pressure marks. The top band is worn where the top ring is from period wear. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum based burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look great. The trylon grip has a few hits but no cracks or chips. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. I purchased this one from the veteran's family. The right price and piece for the right guy!
