Finally a reasonably priced NSKK. The blade one is a bit tired, the crossgrain is mostly worn down but look at that gorgeous motto! The RZM M7/66 (Carl Eickhorn) 1938 maker mark and "Alles fur Deutschland" motto are both beautifully executed, with dark crisp edges that provides a wonderful contrast to the blade. There is minor age throughout. The scabbard is a nice one with 80% of its original paint still intact. There are scratches, crazing and a good dent to the lower reverse. The plated scabbard fittings have been lightly cleaned. The ball is perfectly round and all five screws remain intact! The plated chain is in good shape. It has some minor plating loss. For those of you who like to follow me against the textbooks, indeed the correct link is stamped "NSKK Korpsfuhrung Musterschutz". The link holes are the correct horseshoe shape and the snap functions well! The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap. The crossguards retain good plating! There is only minor loss/bubbling throughout. The beautiful multi-toned hardwood grip displays excellent grain with tones from light brown to black. It has a few pressure marks and a hairline to the upper reverse. The desirable nickel eagle is perfectly fit. The roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Nice dagger.
