A Luftwaffe Radio Operator/Air Gunner Badge Case. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in a simulated grained blue (Lederimitat). To the front is a round gilded steel spring loaded push button. To the back is a gilded steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top in the gold Gothic style gold script it reads: “Luftwaffe Fliegerschützen Abzeichen”. The interior-bottom of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a light blue velvet that outlines a pin, hinge and catch assembly. The interior top has a blue silk/rayon above an underlying pad. The case measures approximately 2 7/8 inches wide by 3 3/8 inches deep and 1 inch thick. A great peice!
