A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/51/40 ‐ Anton Wingen Jr. of Solingen. The ricassoed blade on this one looks good. The stamped “RZM M7/51/40” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is perfect! Some crossgrain remains visible. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. It has age grey/spotting throughout along with the common surface. The black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard remains completely dent free and retains approximately 80%+ of its original paint coverage. The folded and riveted black leather strap is worn. It is “LFS” marked. It shows typical age wear. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plated finish. Minor wear to the belly. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. The obverse has two cracks all the way through. They are secured with two zinc rivets. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel! A nice piece!
