The K98 Bayonet was designed for the German Wehrmacht standard service Karabiner 98 kurz (7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge) bolt-action rifle (1935). The single edged, single fullered, blued blade on this one has wear and pitting. The tip and fit are both fine. It is beautifully maker marked with the stamped “S/173” and “8888” (serial/distribution number). The blade rates a solid Exc. It shows the commonly seen marks from the runners. The steel based, anodized scabbard shows oxidizing. It is marked but I'm gonna rip the frog if I try to see the back. It has some small hits and the side screw is gone. The scabbard sits securely up against the hilt. The hilt is well oxidized. The brown wood grip plates show wear and age. This comes with a worn and stiff frog. A decent example
