Here we have a combat worn example of a M40 style single decal Army Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been green textured pained. The shell has a folded over edge with embossed air vents along three split rivets. The interior has a steel liner with two square rings. The tan leather sized "55" liner remains intact along with its draw string. There is wear to the front edge along with some cracking. All the fingers are intact. The exterior shows oxidization spotting throughout and continues to retain 90%+ of its original paint. The single white and black Heer decal show nice detail and remains 70% intact. The chinstrap is lost to time. A clearly marked, nice Heer Helmet!
