Love when you see these lighter toned Suhl grips! Nice! An Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Haenel of Suhl. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Haenel C.G. Suhl Waffen ‐ u. Fahrrad-Fabrik” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is quite nice! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! This blade rates a solid Exc+ with some age. It shows minor age grey/spotting and surface scratches throughout. The scabbard is steel based and brown anodized. It has a few very light pressure marks and some oxidizing. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings match the crossguards quite well. The ball is perfectly round. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Mi". The light toned and grained hardwood grip looks wonderful! It has the common pressure marks but no cracks or chips. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 96%+ of its enamel. Included is an original but well worn hanger. A nice piece!
