Here we have a 1st Pattern Air Force EM/NCO Belt Buckle (Luftwaffe Koppelschloß), that was instituted in 1935. The buckle is constructed out of a die stamped aluminum alloy base that has been silver washed and black burnished. The obverse features a centrally placed 1st pattern droop-tail Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on top of an oval pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and all lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse shows a soldered on catch and a pin/post sleeve assembly that remain in great condition! The buckle is slightly warped and there is minor wear to the high spots. It measures approximately 2 ½ inches wide by 2 inches tall. A nice one!
