A 1st Model (1934/35) Airforce Dagger (Luftwaffe Fliegerdolch) by Tiger (Lauterjung & Co.) of Solingen. The blade on this one is just gorgeous! The stamped “Tiger Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed. The plating on this gives it a mirror like finish. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy NM/Mint-. It shows the common surface scratches throughout. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The wood based blue pebbled, leather scabbard body looks good. It shows common wear/scuffs from the chain. 90%+ of the leather coverage remains intact. The silvered aluminum scalloped scabbard fittings remain nice and bright. The fittings are tightly secured with all five original screws! The patinaed aluminum chain has 11 lower and 7 upper ringlets that ends at a well working “Ges. Gesch. OLC” (Overhoff & Cie., Lüdenscheid) marked clip. The hilt looks excellent! The four gold gilded sun wheel swastikas are just beautiful! The grip leather matches the scabbard quite nicely! It shows period age wear, scuffs and toning. The dual twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact. A beautiful blade and a desired maker!
