A nice Short Dress Bayonet by G. Spitzer! The single edged, fullered 7 7/8 inch plated blade on this one looks excellent! The stamped Lion “Gustav Spitzer Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed! The plating gives it a nice mirror like finish. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows the common surface scratches throughout. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It shows age spidering and retains 95%+ of its original paint coverage. It continues to remain completely dent free! The original throat retaining screw and frog lug remain intact. The ball remains perfectly round. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated hilt looks great as well. It retains 99%+ of a plating coverage. The black checkered bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition being tightly secured to the hilt with two steel rivets. The push button continues to work well! This one comes with a great looking black crazed frog. A nice quality piece!
