A DRL-Sportabzeichen in Gold by Hensler-Pforzheim. The bronze grade DRL badge was awarded to men and women between the ages of 18-32 who passed five parts of national fitness test within a 12 month period. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The oval shaped obverse depicts a centrally placed “DRL” in stylized letters which is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath which is tied together at the bottom with a ribbon and swastika. The reverse correctly displays a; soldered block hinge, soldered rectangular wire catch and flat wire pin. It is also marked “Hensler-Pforzheim”. It shows a lot of pitting. It measures approximately 1 ½ inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. A great piece!
