Cased Social Welfare Medal by Godet

Ok so not even in the reference but here you go! A nice looking Cased Volkspflege Medaille here! This was awarded "for merits in the field of public welfare, the Winter Relief Organization, the care of the sick and wounded in peace as in war, the rescue services, the care of German nationality and caring German compatriots abroad". It is constructed of a die struck, tombac base that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse features the red cross/social welfare logo which consists of; an early closed winged national eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above a square (Greek Style) pebbled cross that lies on a smooth background and has a thin embossed outer border. The reverse depicts a gothic script: "Medaille für Deutsche Volkspflege", (Medal for German Social Welfare) on that same smooth backing and outer border. The top has an integral loop ring which holds approximately 8" of original red and white rayon ribbon that was on the medal but has been removed and neatly folded into the case. The case itself is deep burgundy with royal purple flocking. The orifice is perfectly fit for the medal. The upper is stamped Godet a prolific maker of Red Cross medals. A nice piece.
