A Land Customs Officer Visor Cap by Otto Schlientz of Straubing (Schirmmütze). The visor is constructed out of a field-grey wool with a forest green wool centerband and forest green piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, aluminum based, silver washed customs cap eagle and a silver bullion wreath and aluminum tri-color cockade. The front also features a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched brown underside. To the sides are two peened on multi piece aluminum/steel silver washed pebbled side buttons that hold the green rayon and silver bullion interwoven chin cord in place. The interior features a tan sweatband with a stitched on orange silk-like lining. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield that is maker marked: “Otto Schlientz Straubing Uniformmutzen”. The sweat band is torn the whole way, beside the one button. The visor peak is worn. The exterior is in great condition! A nice looking visor!
