A Hitlerjugend Schirmmütze für Offiziere by Felix Weissbach of Glauchau (‘Fewegla’). It is constructed out of a light brown wool, with a black velvet center band and silver flatwire piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, aluminum based and silver washed political stype cap eagle and an enamel Hitler Youth diamond. To the sides are two peened on multi piece brass gilded pebbled side buttons that hold the silver bullion chin cord in place. The front also features a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched tan brown underside. The interior features a tan sweatband and a golden silk lining. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield over the size stamped paper “56” insert. The sweat band is ripped to the left side from top to bottom. The underside of the band has the proper RZM tag marked “27” (Felix Weissbach, Glauchau). The wool and velvet are in wonderful condition the odd soil spot and I can’t find any moth holes or thread catches. The visor is in wonderful condition!
