A Kriegsmarine Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Küstenartillerie. It is constructed out of field-grey wool, with a forest-green wool center band and piping. Attached to the obverse is a hand embroidered gold bullion coastal artillery eagle and tri-color cockade and wreath. To the sides are two peened on multi piece base based fouled anchor side buttons that hold the bullion chin cord in place. The front also features a black lacquered visor peak and dual stitched re-enforcement edge. The interior has a blue silk lining and a dark brown leather sweat band. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield. The very top of the wool has the odd moth hole and I can see one to the interior silk. Really this is in very nice condition! A very rare visor!
