A Gau-Abzeichen für Mitglieder der NSDAP seit 1925 by R. Wächter & Lange of Mittweida. The NSDAP General Honor Gau Badge 1925 was awarded by the Gauleiter of the specific districts (Bavaria, Franconia, Saxony, Halle-Merseburg, Hessen-Nassau, Lubeck, Mecklenburg, and Magdeburg-Anhalt) to individuals who held membership within the NSDAP since 1925. It is constructed out of a two piece die struck burnished alpacca base with black enamel work that was covered in a protective lacquer coating. The obverse features a large black mobile swastika with a centrally placed “1925” this is in front of a round oak leaf and acorn wreath. The hollow back reverse reads: “R. Wächter & Lange Mittweida”. To the lower left hand side of the wreath remains a partial “Alpacca” mark. It also displays; two rivets, a round wire soldered on catch, soldered on sheet metal hinge and looped pin assembly. 98%+ of the black enamel remains intact. There are cracks to the left and right arms and the base angle of the left arm, you have to shine it in the light just right to see them. It measures approximately 1 ¾ inches wide and tall. This piece comes housed in its original pressed cardboard issue case. The case is in excellent condition. It measures approximately 2 3/8 inches wide and deep and 7/8 of an inch thick. Much more desirable than the painted variation. The highest Gau level decoration of the Reichsleitung (National Party Level)!
