Eickhorn Scharnhorst Pattern Field Marshal Sword

Here's a good looking Model 1706 leopard-head Army sword by Eickhorn! The plated blade on this one looks good. It has a nice mirror like finish to it with a beautifully stamped "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark. The blade rates Exc++. It has some normal surface scratches throughout. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black enamel repainted scabbard looks good. It shows age spidering throughout along with a wee dent 3" north of the reverse drag, both throat retaining screws remain intact! The brass based, gold plated hilt beautifully displays detail throughout! Much of the plating is worn. The closed winged Heer eagle is a real beauty! The oak leaf and acorn motif to the ferrule, P-guard and back strap looks excellent. The leopard head is wonderfully hand enhanced! It has two red glass eyes that give it a wonderful look! The wood based and black celluloid covered grip is in near perfect condition! No cracks or chips anywhere. The triple wire wrap is partly loose and the bottom 4 sections are missing one wire. This one is illustrated in Angolia reference pg 78. A great example by Eickhorn!
