A Reichsforstdienst Schirmmütze für Offiziere by Wilh. Noe of Stuttgart. It is constructed out of a field-grey wool, with a forest green wool center-band and piping. Attached to the obverse is a bullion forestry cap eagle and a silver bullion wreath around a tri-piece cockade. To each side is a peened on multi-piece aluminum based and silver washed side button that holds the silver interwoven bullion chin cord in place. There is a black lacquered visor peak with a cream underside. The interior features a light tan leather sweatband that has vent holes to the forehead and a silk bow tie to the back. There are some rips near the forehead sweatband. The base and edges of the interior has a gold colored silk lining (light staining) under a clear diamond moisture shield. It is manufacture marked “Wilh. Noe Stuttgart Eßinger Str. II”. Underneath the sweatband it is marked “838”. The whole piece is in wonderful condition! A beautiful visor!
