Perhaps the most desirable of all Army sword patterns. A solid early heavy brass example by Holler! The bright blade on this one rates Exc++/NM being correctly stamped with the Holler trademark. The tip looks great, the fit is perfect. There are a few odd scuffs to the last 10" of the blade towards the tip. You can only find them if you turn the blade just so in the sun. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The undented black enamel painted scabbard shows normal wear, scratches and spidering. The throat is secured by two dome head screws. The solid brass hilt and P-guard are beautifully detailed! The Art-Deco lion head looks awesome with red glass eyes and hand enhancing to the mane. The languet features an gigantic closed wing hand enhanced Wehrmacht eagle. Now peek at the end of the crossguard, they have another lion there with the same theme as the pommel lion. The black celluloid grip is in perfect condition! The early brass triple wire wrap is all intact. A beauty for sure! Found in Angolia's Swords of Germany on page 92.
