Two uncleaned AH Formal Pattern Knives together with a custom made post-war case with velvet interior with inlaid shapes for the silverware. Ok guys my desire here is to sell these together with the case.
The Adolf Hitler Formal Pattern Luncheon Knife was originally purchased from Bill Shea. It is a nice piece of silverware specifically made for Adolf Hitler residences. This silverware was made by P. Bruckmann & Sohne, Heilbronn and designed by Prof. Gerdy Troost. It is a two piece construction with a stainless steel blade/tang and 800 silver handle. The obverse handle depicts an embossed NSDAP eagle with closed wings clutching a wreathed swastika flanked by the Führer's monogram: "A" (left) and "H" (right), to the largest portion, which is bordered in a "Greek Key" pattern. The factory grained smooth rounded blade has a small swage to the obverse. The reverse has that same bordered "Greek Key" pattern, and is marked to the very top of the handle with: a crescent, a crown, "800" and a Prussian eagle. It shows very minor wear. There is beautiful crisp detail to the eagle, maker mark and border! It measures approximately 8 ½ inches long.
The bread Knife is rarer. The reverse is completely smooth and is marked, to the center, with: a crescent, a crown, "800" and a Prussian eagle. Sorry this is worn down and you can hardly maker it out but under the right light and turning it just so you can find it. It shows the common surface scratches and ageing throughout. There is beautiful crisp detail to the eagle, maker mark and border! It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches long. A quality rare piece!
