A wonderful, completely matching, early, personalized, slant-grip, tapered tang Army Dagger by SMF! What more could you ask for! The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched "SMF Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible and stunning as you shine it in the light! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Exc++! It shows some minor age spotting. The large brown pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It has a wee dent to the lower obverse. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The alloy based, nickel silver plated unique early SMF eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The reverse has a unique personalization which reads: "MUTH 1935"! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with hand enhancing and proud oak leaves and acorns. The crossguard, scabbard and pommel all match in color, plating and patina. The warm orange, slant trylon grip on this one looks great! A has normal period wear but no cracks or chips.
